Peloton Machines

At A. Hertel Fitness studio our mission is to provide the best in fitness for anyone, anywhere. That’s why the studio not only includes our general gym space and childcare area, but also has two private workout rooms, each containing a Peloton machine and a Nordictrack Vault. The first room includes our original Peloton Bike. With 24/7 access, and booking workouts from an app on your phone, it couldn’t be easier to get up and show up.

$40/month unlimited access for entire studio.

The Peloton Bike is a high-end indoor bicycle rigged with a Wi-Fi–enabled, 22-inch touch screen tablet that streams live and on-demand classes and allows the rider to compete with other participants and get a strenuous cardio workout in the process. This thing is really cool. First, the bike itself is sleek and extremely well-built. It’s easy to adjust to fit  any size rider. The pedals and flywheel turn extremely smoothly and near-silently, with electromagnetic resistance that is so sensitive, you can adjust it by one percentage point at a time. The saddle is comfortable, as far as indoor cycles go, and it adjusts both in height and depth. The handlebars are grippy even when doused in sweat, and they feel secure, with none of the wobbling that lesser bikes might produce. No clip-in shoes necessary. Wear your normal tennis shoes and get ready to sweat in style, oh- and in private!bike.jpg

Then there’s the Peloton Tread. This is the treadmill to end all treadmills. Once you go Peloton…

The rubber coating makes your landings softer than if you were hitting the pavement, but each slat is hard and more realistic. The slats roll along the machine on a system of bearings, unlike traditional belts that slide along a deck under your foot. The entire build gives you confidence with each step and makes the experience feel more like a road run. The Tread will connect with a wide variety of Peloton studio classes both live and on-demand. Different styles of treadmill workouts are scheduled for all ability levels, including options that add strength training to cardio exercise. (Peloton refers to these cross-training treadmill workouts as “boot-camp” sessions.)

Additionally Peloton members can take part in classes focused entirely on off-the-treadmill exercises for flexibility, toning and strengthening the whole body. Access to more than 4,000 video classes for use with the Peloton bike is part of Tread experience.

A 32”-diagonal HD touch screen is your portal to virtual NYC studio training whenever you please. The large view along with audio helps create immersive training experiences. The size has a more practical benefit too; as the wide screen lets you clearly see demonstrations of off-treadmill exercises. Peloton members can use the company’s mobile app for iOS. The Peloton app tracks your workout history, makes it easy to choose from thousands of on-demand classes, provides a workout schedule and has other features to help maximize your progress.tread.jpg
